Label Placement

LabelPRO table-top pick-and-place labelling — barcode and traceability labels printed, placed and verified at the station.

Choosing a label placement system?

An automatic label placement system prints, applies and verifies labels on assembled boards. The LabelPRO is a compact table-top station that replaces a hand-applied label with a printer, a pick-and-place head and a barcode reader, so position is repeatable and every code is confirmed readable before the board moves on.

The LabelPRO series is PROMATION's line of automatic label placement. The current system is a table-top machine that prints, verifies and places labels onto PCBs — integrated 600 dpi Zebra printer, 1D/2D code verification with re-print, and advanced GUI barcode generator software. Boards are labelled and confirmed readable at the station before they move on.

Questions worth asking

Does it verify the code it just applied?

Yes — all labels are scanned for readability prior to placement, and a failed scan triggers an automatic re-print. 1D and 2D codes are both supported.

How accurate is the placement?

The servo gantry is accurate to a tenth of a millimetre on its own, and the vision system can be turned on or off based upon the accuracy the job requires. That matters when the label has to sit inside a silkscreened box or clear of a connector.

Is there an in-line version?

No — at this time PROMATION is building table-top solutions only. Tell us your throughput and board flow and we will advise on the right way to fit labelling into your process.

Can it handle our existing label stock?

Automated systems use labels made for automation, so not all label stock is suitable. Check with us and we will confirm your stock or point you to the right one before you order.
