PCB Depaneling
Full-featured table-top PCB depaneling — servo gantry, vision and a high-speed spindle for seamless separation.
Depaneling separates finished boards from the panel they were assembled in. An automatic router cuts the tabs or scored web with a spindle following a programmed path, which keeps the mechanical stress away from the joints and components that hand-breaking or manual shearing puts under load.

An Automatic Routing Conveyor is a fully automated system that can be programmed to rout the cut-away sections of a PCB array with the utmost precision and repeatability. Dual Jig Bays for progressive batch processing, and an integrated dust collection system make this machine an easy choice for any manufacturer. Fiducial alignment, visual path teaching, and array / step-and-repeat functions allow for ease of programming as well as high levels of process stability.
Return on Investment - PROMATION offers the best value in Automatic Routing! Customers often see a ONE YEAR Return on Investment! Or Sooner!
Safety – Remove dangerous fiberglass dust safely and efficiently. An enclosed cell with interlocks and light screen finger detection ensures the safety of operator.
Highly Efficient – Dual-Bay design allows for the unload & load of a a bay while the other bay is processing. This sequence enables progressive assembly which is very important in developing an efficient batch process.
Versatility – Simply changing the drilling bit, fixture, and program is all it takes to change over to a different product for processing. A multitude of drill bits are available, and the PC based system allows for a virtually endless amount of program storage.
Our PROMATION Routing Depaneler comes in Y, X, and XL sizes to match our conveyors’ PCB handling capability. All machines are PC based and require product fixtures.

Questions worth asking
Why not just break the panel by hand?
Hand-breaking flexes the board, and that flex travels into the solder joints — ceramic capacitors near the break line are the usual casualty, and the cracks are rarely visible. A router removes the material instead of bending it, so the stress never reaches the joints.
Routing or laser depaneling?
Routing suits most FR-4 work and handles thicker stackups at lower cost per machine. Laser earns its place on flex, on very thin boards, and where components sit close enough to the cut line that a spindle cannot reach. Send us the panel and we will tell you which one your board actually needs.
What about the dust?
Routing FR-4 makes abrasive, partly conductive dust, so extraction is part of the machine rather than an accessory — it protects the board, the spindle and the operator. Systems are quoted with extraction included.
